In a statement released to the media, Ford Foundation has categorically stated that it has not sponsored any protests, and reminded Ruto that among the things they have sponsored in Kenya in the recent past is the Africa Climate Summit, which he proudly hosted last year.
They have also reminded him that they wined and dined together during his State Visit to the U.S., and had some good time.

I am feeling dizzy! Very dizzy! You know why?!
The Government spokesperson told us that the anti-Finance Bill, anti-bad governance protests were sponsored by Russia.
Government bloggers on the other hand told us that they were sponsored by Mt. Kenya billionaires.
President Ruto has now told us that the protests were sponsored by Ford Foundation. This is a foundation that is ideologically aligned to the Democratic Party. The Party of President Joe Biden. The Joe Biden who rolled out the red carpet for Ruto less than 2 months ago.
While in the US Ruto visited the Carter Center which is hugely supported by Ford Foundation, and in his speech waxed lyrical on democracy.
During his meeting with VP Kamala Harris that focused on Digital Inclusion, Ford Foundation was mentioned as one of the organisations that has supported Kenya in driving digital inclusion. Ruto and his delegation clapped in appreciation.
At which point did Ford Foundation and its allies turn against Ruto, who has spent more time in the last two years out there with them than he has spent with us here?
The president, his inner circle and his communication team need to sit and agree on a single, coordinated narrative. Even if it’s propaganda, can they give us quality and consistent propaganda?
Now, what is Gordon Opiyo who has spent the last 2 weeks telling us about Mt. Kenya billionaires supposed to do? Or he will spin it and tell us that Mt. Kenya billionaires funded Ford Foundation which in return funded the protests? And what will Mwaura do about his Russian narrative?

The FORD FOUNDATION sponsored the arrogance we saw with UDA elected and appointed leaders.
The FORD FOUNDATION sponsored the draconian Finance Bill 2024/25.
The FORD FOUNDATION sponsored the incompetence we saw or experienced in the UDA regime’s cabinet.
The FORD FOUNDATION sponsored the opulence we have witnessed in UDA elected and appointed leaders.
The FORD FOUNDATION sponsored the health ministry not to post interns as per the agreed CBA.
The FORD FOUNDATION sponsored the Ministry of Education not to post and pay JSS teachers in Kenya.
The FORD FOUNDATION sponsored the wastage of taxpayers’ money.
The FORD FOUNDATION sponsored the increase in road maintenance levy from Ksh 18 to Ksh 25 yesterday night.
Billionnaires from Mt.Kenya achaneni na Ruto
TO.
Uhuru is sponsoring maandamno
TO.
Ford Foundation sponsoring GenZ demonstrations.
Next they might blame the late Jehova Wanyonyi
Thats why we are saying Ruto Must Go!..a very useless regime.
There is a video from Nakuru that has cracked me up, Ruto is telling the youth that “Msikubali kutumiwa kuharibu nchi, ebu nionyesheni Kwa mkono wale wanasema hawatakubali kutumiwa”.
Apart from the guy shouting “Kesho tuko na wewe Kwa streets meaning ataandamana”, I can only see Susan Kihika raising her hand ati hatakubali kutumiwa kuenda maandamano.
Weuh!! Just weuh!! Foundation ya Ford 🤣
Duale Criticizes Ford Foundation Amid Ruto’s Accusations of Funding Protests Violence
In a statement, Duale declared, “Those instigating anarchy from the shadows, we know you and we are aware of your schemes!” This appears to be a direct reference to the Ford Foundation and its alleged role in the nationwide protests.
The Ford Foundation, a private philanthropic organization, has found itself at the center of a political storm in Kenya following the president’s claims that it had been financing the violence seen during the widespread demonstrations against the government.
Ruto must have asked for the owner of the Ford Ranger double cab that dumped me in Kajiado and they must have told him since Ford Asili is dead, the only remaining Ford are Ford-Kenya and Ford Foundation.
President William Samoei Ruto resorted to blaming external organizations like the Ford Foundation for sponsoring violence and protests in Kenya. This narrative serves as a convenient scapegoat, detracting from his administration’s failure to fulfill its promises to the Kenyan people. The real culprits behind the dissatisfaction among the youth and general populace are the incompetence and opulence exhibited by the government.
President Ruto’s administration has been marked by a series of unfulfilled promises and blatant mismanagement of resources. For instance, he has been on record spending a staggering Ksh 200 million on a single trip to the United States of America. Such extravagance is a slap in the face of the struggling Kenyan citizens who trusted him with their votes.
If President Ruto’s claims about the Ford Foundation sponsoring protests are indeed true, then why did he feel compelled to drop the draconian Finance Bill of 2024? Moreover, why did he dismiss his entire cabinet, claiming he had listened to the people? Which people exactly is he referring to? Are these the supposed sponsored protesters he mentions? This inconsistency in his statements only serves to further undermine his credibility.
The youth of Kenya have expressed a clear vote of no confidence in President Ruto’s leadership. His penchant for blame games and refusal to address the core issues plaguing the nation only exacerbates the discontent. It is not the Ford Foundation or any other external entity that is to blame for the current state of affairs; it is the administration’s own failures and mismanagement.
Kenya deserves better. The citizens demand accountability, transparency, and a government that truly serves their interests. No amount of deflection or blame-shifting can mask the reality of the situation. The message is clear: We do not want William Ruto as our president, period. It is high time he acknowledges the real issues and takes responsibility for his administration’s short.
